ACUPUNCTURE

There are many naturally occurring “points” on our body. Acupuncture stimulates a natural healing response by activating these points, and can relieve pain and even reduce inflammation. Acupuncture is an effective treatment for back/neck pain, sciatica, tennis elbow, headaches, stiff muscles, allergies, and even depression, menstrual cramps, and digestive orders. New patients welcome, no referral needed!

Since sciatica problem has been treated for a while in different therapy, but didn't improve to much. Recently my back to the leg have been particularly painful. Friends have always recommended me to see zoe. Although I am afraid of acupuncture, I decided to try it. Wow, the result turned out to be an unexpected surprise. I felt greatly improved immediately after the treatment, which also changed my fear of acupuncture.”

Frequently Asked Questions

  • According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, our body tissues are nourished through energy channels called meridians. Meridians run throughout your body’s various parts, including your internal organs. Meridians can become blocked, which can affect your energy and blood flow, resulting in health issues.

Acupuncture restores your body functions by inserting very fine needles to promote the flow of energy within your body. It can regulate meridians, improve digestion, absorption, energy production activities, and your energy circulation. There are many centuries-old studies and practices of Yin Yang theory and the Five Elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, and water)—and even if this area is new to you, modern science is confirming the benefits of acupuncture.

When your body nerves are stimulated by acupuncture, your body responds with the release of natural chemicals such as endorphins—the body’s natural painkillers. Many people believe acupuncture activates your body's own self-healing mechanism.

  • Your experience during acupuncture depends a lot on your pain tolerance and overall sensitivity—and these aspects can change depending on the body part receiving treatment.

Most people feel very little pain or no pain, because acupuncture needles are so thin (0.14mm to 0.4mm). Distension, numbness, soreness, tingling or tightness are common sensations of acupuncture—and those feelings are good feedback confirming that you are connected to your body’s sensations.

Other good sensations include mild “zaps” that last for a few seconds, and pulsation like waves.

  • More than we can list here! In fact, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Canadian Alliance of Regulatory Bodies of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists (CARB-TCMPA) have published lists of more than 150 conditions that can be treated with acupuncture, including but not limited to:

    • Pain Management: Addressing acute and chronic pain stemming from neurological and musculoskeletal conditions such as sciatica, migraines, and carpal tunnel syndrome.

    • Injury Care: Managing sports injuries, car accidents (MVA), and concussions.

    • Women's Health: Balancing hormones and treating gynecological issues like dysmenorrhea, infertility (IVF/IUI), and menopausal syndrome.

    • Digestive Wellness: Offering relief for gastrointestinal discomfort, including diarrhea, constipation, and gastroesophageal reflux (GERD).

    • Holistic Health: Addressing sub-health concerns like insomnia, depression, anxiety, and post-COVID syndrome.

    • Immune Support: Providing assistance for hay fever, colds, coughs, and obesity.

    • Dermatological Care: Treating conditions like eczema, acne, urticaria, and herpes zoster.

    • Respiratory and ENT Disorders: Managing issues such as sinusitis, rhinitis, tinnitus, and chronic bronchitis.

    • Comprehensive Care: Offering support for a range of other ailments, including dizziness, facial paralysis, and stroke sequelae.

If you need help treating a health challenge, there’s a good chance that acupuncture can help.

Restore your energy.
