Should I stop exercising after an accident?

No, but it’s a common misconception, and a natural one. Your body has undergone a great impact; a significant trauma. You ache all over. You might have whiplash, or headaches, or soreness in your limbs. The last thing you might feel like doing is exercise, for fear that you might make your injuries worse. But it’s important not to become completely sedentary after filing your ICBC claim.

Light activity is good: swimming, walking, gentle strengthening or stretching, like yoga, can be good for your body. But avoid any postures that aggravate your injuries, and always check with your physiotherapist before trying anything new.

Try a sauna, hot bath, hot tub, steam room… see a theme? Heat helps relax the muscles. And hot rooms/tubs make your body sweat (read: work a little harder) and flush out toxins, which is always a good thing.
